Strike has a few meanings, let’s take a look at two.
Strike: To hit or attack someone using force in a violent way.
“Be very careful, some snakes can strike faster than human eyes can follow!”
Strike as a phrasal verb:
Strike Out: To start doing something new while being independent of other people.
“After living with his family for 21 years, he decided it was time to strike out on his own.”
